What should I do if an AD Account is created but has not been given an NHSMail Account?

If an NHSMail account is not created for a new user after 30-60 minutes, it could be due to one of the following reasons;

  • The NHSMail API is not accessible
  • The password used to login to the NHSMail API to create the account has expired
  • The NHSMail login used to create the account has been setup incorrectly
  • There has been an error while creating the account, for example the password passed into the new account does not meet complexity requirements

In the fist instance, contact your internal team responsible for NHSMail for assistance.

Alternatively, contact the BDS Service Desk to raise a support call for investigation into the cause.
