How can I access the Directory Manager Config Client if I’m unable to do so?

How can I access the Directory Manager Config Client if I’m unable to do so?

In order to view the Directory Manager Config Client you will need to be part a security group referred to as “Directory Manager Control Group”.

If you are not already part of this group and wish to view the Config Client, you will need to do the following:
  • Check if you are authorised to access the information in the Config Client. The client may contain sensitive user information so check with your Information Security Governance team.
  • Ensure you follow any internal IS Governance processes for access to systems.
  • If you are authorised then make a request to the team that manage your Active Directory environment to add you to the “Directory Manager Control Group”. If this group doesn’t exist then check for other names such as “DM Control Group”.
Once this is done, log out of your account on the server and then log in again, this will give you access to the Config Client.
If you are still experiencing issues with viewing the Config Client or are unable to find the Directory Manager Control Group, please contact the BDS service desk and we will be able to help you.
