How do I reconcile records with a different EmployeeID in Directory Manager?

How do I reconcile records with a different EmployeeID in Directory Manager?

NOTE: This only applies to non-Digital Directory customers.

A user may come through with a different EmployeeID due to changes in critical personnel data such as NI Number or Date of Birth.

This usually occurs because the ESR record (or other source if it is set up) originally came through without this information and the AD account was created with the generated EmployeeID based on known information at the time. When the record gets updated with the new critical user data, it forces the generation of a new EmployeeID resulting in a mismatch.

When the new EmployeeID is created, it triggers a pending new transaction. You can link the current AD account to the new EmployeeID by doing the following;

  1. In the AD account you wish to link to the new EmployeeID, remove the current EmployeeID attribute
  2. Contact the BDS Service Desk to raise a new support call giving details what you are trying to do and to which account
  3. BDS support will delete the link between the AD account and the old EmployeeID field
  4. BDS support will confirm when this has been done
  5. Go into the pending transaction by the EmployeeID next to it and click the ‘Link’ button to find the AD account
  6. Link the account. The EmployeeID attribute in the AD account will be updated
