What’s the process for making changes to a user’s data in the Digital Directory?

There are different mechanisms available for making changes to a users data in Digital Directory so it depends on what you are trying to achieve.

  1. Edit the users PDI profile – You can edit the users PDI by going into the PDI and clicking the edit button. Make the required changes to the users basic information and click save. The only information you can change is what we consider core information, such as the users Name, NI Number, Date of Birth Etc.
  2. Send in a record via a input date source – If you provide an update via an input source such as ESR, Portal, CSV etc then once that update is matched to the PDI the changes will be available.

In either case, the update will trigger an assessment of the record against the AD account associated with the PDI. If the change is valid according your trusts configuration, a change or rename transaction will appear in “Pending Transactions”. You will need to review and then approve the change / rename. Once approved it will be applied to the users AD account.
