It is well recognised that the introduction of Microsoft’s Active Directory will simplify the overall administration of complex network directories whilst also making it easy for users to locate resources on even the largest networks; however in order to realise these benefits the quality of the Active Directory content is critical.
Traditionally the ICT team has been responsible for maintaining the quality of the directory content, an approach which often negates the productivity savings made by the implementation of Active Directory without guaranteeing the timeliness, and therefore quality, of the data.
BDS Solutions has addressed this issue via the development of Directory Integrator, a product BDS Solutions believes is fundamental to an Active Directory project which enables ICT teams to delegate the content management and quality assurance of Active Directory entries to selected users, in a secure and structured manner.
Directory Integrator is simple to use and can be deployed to departmental administrators so that they are able to maintain details of their own staff and/or colleagues. These users do not need administrative rights to the Active Directory and if required, data provided by these users could be committed to a central details database for the ICT team to review before applying to the Active Directory.
