WHAT?
What delivers the best cost and effort savings for service desk functions whilst at the same time delivers a significantly improved user experience and increase in productivity?
Traditionally two objectives that are at odds with one another.
Solution – OneSign Single Sign-on (SSO) and Self Service Password Management (SSPM), two key features of Imprivata OneSign Platform.
Single Sign-on – is a triumph of design, it easily integrates with all types of applications – legacy (terminal, emulators, telnet), client/server, Java and Web – as wells as a multitude of strong authentication solutions including NHS Smartcards.
Monitoring, tracking and reportin on user access to applications across the organisation are instantly available, are valuable features of the OneSign platform.

With OneSign SSO and SSPM delivering increased security and service desk efficiencies is no longer at odds with improving the user experience and productivity.
Rapid single sign-on enablement to all your applications
The OneSign Application Profile Generator (APG) is a patent pending technology that provides administrators with an easy-to-use, drag-n-drop interface that profiles all of an applications sign-on behaviours and dynamics to enable single sign-on deployments to occur in minutes, not hours or weeks!
The APG approach does not require any scripting or modification of any application code.
Citrix Application Support
OneSign Single Sign-on provides support for all Citrix or Terminal Services-hosted applications. Importantly OneSign SSO can automatically roam the users Citrix or Terminal Services session when they log into OneSign, and automatically lock the desktop of the user’s previous workstation when they roam to a different workstation.
Self Service Password Management
A convenient and secure process for users to reset their primary domain password that alleviates burdensome and costly calls to the Service Desk for password reset that helps swiftly to return users to productivity.
Automated Password Changes
For maximum application security, OneSign SSO can automatically generate strong (up to 32 characters), randomized passwords on behalf of users during application password change policy processes, eliminating the need for users to be aware of, or having to deal with varied application password reset events.
This approach also increases information security by eliminating inappropriate application (back door) access when network accounts have been suspended.
Shared Workstations & Fast User Switching
OneSign SSO offers various workflow solutions for shared workstations including fast user switching between multiple, concurrent Windows desktops, as well as secure fast user switching on top of a generic Windows desktop.
Workstation security and data privacy are increased with configurable "hot key" locking and inactivity lock/logoff policies.
A Clinical Governance Enabler
The combination of OneSign SSO, Strong Authentication and Citrix Application support when used together in a busy hospital environment is a clinical governance enabler.
For example, clinicians and medical staff working in a busy department like accident and emergency, with RFID access cards can walk up to a terminal and gain instant access to their desktop and applications. The terminal will then automatically lock when they have completed their tasks and walk away.
A nurse can subsequently walk up to the terminal and gain instant access to their desktop and applications; perform their tasks and then walk away.
The locked workstation would be locked and ready for the next user to walk up to it.
This ability to gain instant access to applications and computing resources, to use information already in the system, or add quickly additional information into records, increases significantly the value of technology in the delivery of healthcare.
