Directory Manager™ can be linked into Active Directory and employed to issue automated email notifications across an organisation, advising them of changes that have been processed through the Active Directory Administration tools for Users. Usage examples include change control, line manager updates or maintenance of other resources.

Usage Scenario 2 - ESR Module (NHS ESR Change Notifications)

In addition to, or as an alternative to scenario 1, Directory Manager™ can be implemented to receive output from NHS Electronic Staff Record and issue automated email notifications of all staff changes that have occurred within your Human Resource system.

Custom Enhancement

Today's software development is not just about programming - it's about understanding the relationships between the different technologies we use and allowing them to interact. With .NET, Microsoft leads the way in offering development tools that permit the integration of disparate technologies. BDS Solutions have the .NET expertise to ensure your integration project is successful.

Acknowledging that all the information required for staff identity management may not all be available from NHS ESR, Directory Manager™ can be easily and cost effectively tailored to:

Integrate information from alternatives sources, these can be in place of or in addition to NHS ESR, for example:

  • Deaneries and / or Agency staff providers
  • Local Service Desk / Telephone Directory solutions
  • Third party / Suppliers
  • Other data sources, e.g., CSV or Excel files, databases and / or directories.
  • Manual Input (self-service)

Provision of administrative (intranet) interfaces providing the facility for manual entering and management of staff identity details, providing:

  • The option to devolve certain staff identity management task i.e., to line managers or trusted third parties
  • A facility to allow staff and managers to add information missing or incomplete from the data source e.g., telephone contact details, or office locations
  • The capability to unify the approvals for all staff identity changes regardless of where these are sourced or obtained.

Our Development Services can assist you throughout any Identity Management enhancement project - from analysis and design of the solution, through to testing and deployment. We will ensure that you are advised of the technical options available and will help you arrive at the best approach to meet your requirements.

Deep Provisioning

Having established Directory Manager™ as a unified Identity Manager solution trusts can then make use of the staff identity and change management capability provided by the solution to establish connectors into secondary (non-Active Directory integrated) applications, extending the automated provisioning and account management process.

Single Sign-on and Self Service Password Management

Often promoted as Identity Management solution these aspects are in fact complimentary additions to the Identity Management process that addresses additional requirements for staff security management (access to systems) and reduction of service desk activities achieved by the removal of the need to facilitate staff password resets.

Directory Manager™ is compatible with the NHS market leading Single Sign-on solution from Imprivata, and also compatible with other leading solutions that utilise Active Directory as the primary source of user account information.
