Directory Manager™ - Product Information
There are many commercial "off-the-shelf" Identity Management solutions being promoted to UK National Health Trusts as being ideal solutions for delivering NHS Identity Management requirements!
However, "off-the-shelf" compatibility is immediately challenged because:
- The NHS staff / NHS Trust relationship model can be very complex
- A good number of staff have multiple roles / functions
- Significant numbers of staff provide services to more than one trust
- non-NHS third party resources are often employed in service delivery
Directory Manager™ is the only NHS specific solution, designed with flexibility and capability to service custom requirements that address the complexities of NHS staff / resource utilisation.
Directory Manager™ is the market leading NHS Identity Management solution because it has been designed and developed to specifically work with the NHS Microsoft technology investments, making it compatible with over 90% of NHS trust infrastructures.

Employing the Latest Open Technologies
The solution is separated into different Windows service modules, each with a specific purpose and each able to perform its role independently of the others, to provide the ultimate flexibility and resilience in the design of the solution, delivered by the following technologies:
- Microsoft .Net framework version 3.5
- SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol)
- WSE 3.0 (Web Services Enhancements)
Consequently enhancing the solution to meet additional identity management requirements can be achieved simply and at low cost, for example providing extended capability for, cross domain replication, deep provisioning into other applications and systems and / or integration into enterprise workflow and office automation solutions, is not costly nor difficult to achieve.
