Configuration Files

All of the settings in Enquiry Agent can be applied using configuration (config) files. These can contain settings relating to:

• Data sources
• Cache settings
• Display settings
• Email settings

Config files can be used when first installing the software, or to update settings for existing installations.

Importing Configuration Files

The first time Enquiry Agent starts, it looks in several places for a config file. In order, these are:

• the installation folder
• the A: floppy drive (if present)
• the Internet

If a config file is found, it is processed and the subsequent locations skipped.

Each subsequent time Enquiry Agent starts, it only checks the Internet for config files. Each config file has a timeout date after which Enquiry Agent will ignore it.

Whenever a config file is found, the settings are applied immediately, there is no need to restart the software.

Manually Importing Configuration File

Config files can be imported manually as well. If you have been provided with a configuration file, click on the "Config" button and then on the "Import Configuration File" button.

Browse to the location of the config file and select it. This will then be processed and the settings applied.
