Process Settings The Process Settings pane is used to configure when and how Directory Manager will process extract files.
NOTE: Changes to the settings on this tab are only saved when the Save and Close button is clicked. Process pending files automatically Directory Manager can process registered extract files at designated times. The following frequencies can be chosen:
This option will only take effect when the software is running in the system tray. Process files in the background Directory Manager can either process files in the background with no dialog windows shown, or can display a progress dialog box on screen reporting on the progress. With this option selected, when running in background, the system tray icon will change to indicate when processing is taking place. When processing file entries, do x at a time This option sets the "chunk" size, that is, the number of entries that are processed by Directory Manager from an extract file at a time. This is useful if memory or network speeds are an issue and if so, a smaller chunk size should be specified. If these are not an issue, a larger chunk size should be specified. This value can be between 1 and 1000. A value of 25 to 100 is typically recommended. Perform Matching on IDs When processing files, Directory Manager checks to see if the user already exists on the directory. Selecting this option will make Directory Manager check the Unique ID (UID) field. For this to have any effect, the existing user objects must have UID values in the correct attribute. The UID will have been pre-populated during the implementation process by another BDS Solutions product. This option MUST BE turned on for Directory Manager to link entries in the extract file to existing user accounts on the directory. Move objects based on rules When an entry is matched to an existing user object on the directory but is found to be in a different OU to that specified by the matching rule, Directory Manager can move the object to the correct OU. Turn on previews Previewing allows the results of processing a file, without making any changes to the directory. This allows verification of the results before committing them. See Preview for more information. User Creation Settings This opens the User Creation Settings management form. Turn on automatic purging This is a master switch for purging. Selecting this will turn on the purging settings defined in the rules. De-selecting this will turn off these settings and purging will not be applied. This switch can therefore be used to turn on purging when the system is ready. In the same way, it can be used to temporarily turn off purging for testing or similar purposes. Provide confirmation of processing Directory Manager can email process summary messages whenever it completes the processing of a single / batch of extract files. Enter email addresses of recipients in the box. To add multiple addresses, separate them using a semi-colon (e.g. John.Smith@nhs.net;Simon.Jones@nhs.net). Attach summary During the processing of address book files, a summary csv file is produced that lists all rules that were used in the processing along with the actions taken for each. See Summary File for more information. Select this option to attach this file to the message. Attach log file The action log is a detailed csv file that lists all entries from the extract file(s), along with the action that occurred and the rule it matched on. See Action Logs for more details. Select this option to attach this file to the message.
