Previews

Previews allow the actions that would be taken by Directory Manager to be viewed without making any changes to the directory.

Previewing allows the actions to be reviewed prior to committing any changes. This allows:

  • the confirmation of expected actions
  • unexpected actions to be investigated

The actions are presented in a report that is automatically displayed when requesting a preview. See Preview Report for more information.

Using Previews

  1. Tick the "Turn on Previews" option on the Process Settings tab.
  2. Register a file with Directory Manager using the File Pending tab.
  3. Click the "Process" button.
  4. At the prompt, select "Preview Results" and click OK.
  5. The file will now be previewed and the preview report shown.
  6. To apply the actions to the directory, click the "Process" button and choose "Apply to Directory".
