Overview

Directory Manager automates directory administration. By connecting to a data source such as Electronic Staff Records (ESR) or an HR database, Directory Manager automates the creation of starters, expiration of leavers and maintenance of existing user accounts. All changes made to the data source are replicated on the directory by Directory Manager, removing the need for manual directory administration.

Using the data from the source and from an initial manual configuration, Directory Manager can perform the following tasks:

  • Create user accounts
  • Create user mailboxes
  • Populate home folder, WTS folders and script paths
  • Create and maintain user profiles including folder creation and issuing access rights
  • Associate user accounts with security groups
  • Set initial passwords
  • Manage name changes including issuing new email addresses and maintaining historic addresses
  • Move user accounts on the directory
  • Disable expired accounts
