Action Logs, Logs

Files generated by Directory Manager after each import of extract files, highlighting what action took place for each entry.

Data Source

The source system that will be used to feed Directory Manager. This can be a HR or payroll system for example.

Entry / Entries

Individual person records generated from the data source and included on the extract file for processing by Directory Manager.

Extract files

Files that are generated from a source data system, for example, HR or Payroll system. These extract files are either generated by the source system itself of or through an intermediary BDS Solutions utility.

File System

The files and folders on the local drives or network drives.

Install folder

The location on the computer where Directory Manager has been installed (e.g. c:\Program Files\BDS Solutions\STABLE Directory Manager).

Mail Queue

The inbox of the Outlook profile the software is configured to use.

OU

Organisational Unit. A container or folder on Active Directory.

System tray

The part of the task bar in Windows that contains notification icons (otherwise known as the notification area) next to the clock.
