Automatically Manage Data Sources

In order for object information to be included in the exports, the object must have a status of Selected. Directory Integrator can auto-select new objects as they are added to a data source to avoid the need for manual intervention.

Directory Integrator will only select objects that pass any applied validation rules. Any that do not will not be selected and must be processed manually.

Setting up Automatic Selection

In the Options form, set the following options:

  • "Automatically check data sources for changes every x hours" and enter a number of hours (Further Settings tab)

The "Manage" option on the Container Actions menu will now be enabled.

Select a folder to manage and click the Manage option. You will be prompted to confirm the action. Choose Yes and the following will happen:

  • The folder will be checked for any valid objects. Any found will be selected
  • All sub-folders will also be checked
  • The folder icon will be replaced with a green M to indicate it is being managed

Click File > Close to let Directory Integrator run in background mode. It will not monitor all the managed folders every x hours.

When running in background mode, alerts can be sent to recipients to inform of any issues and about the number of changes found. See Alert Addresses for more information.
