Attributes Panel

This panel displays all the attribute information that relates to the selected object in the Objects pane.

All available attributes for the object are displayed. The number of completed attributes is dependant on the data sources being used. For detailed information on the attributes and where they are sourced, see Object Attributes.

This information can be gathered from a number of areas, dependant on how Directory Integrator is being used. The information can come from:

  • the primary data source
  • the internal database
  • a secondary data source
  • changes made by translation tables
  • the folder template

Default Source of Information

By default, the information on the primary data source is displayed, with any amendments from the other areas overwriting this.

This can be changed so the data from the internal database is displayed, and this is then overwritten by the other areas. By using this, it is possible to see exactly which information will be exported.

To change this setting see "Display data from internal database rather than from the data source" in Further Settings.

Colours of Information

In order to highlight where different information values have come from, the values will be displayed using different colours. The available colours and their use are:

  • Black - information from the primary data source / when the information in the internal database matches that in the primary data source
  • Blue - information that has been included from a secondary data source / a translation / a template
  • Red - information that does not meet any applied validation rules
  • Magenta - information that is different on the primary data source to that in the internal database
  • Orange -information that has been saved to the internal database but not to the primary data source

NOTE: See Using Directory Integrator for details on using the Attributes panel to update information and saving this information.

NOTE: See Using Custom Values for more information on using attributes not displayed on the Object panel.

NOTE: See Secondary Data Sources for more information on linking objects.
