National Directory Validation Rules

Information that is sent via connectors to the National Directory must meet certain criteria. Information that does not meet this criteria is rejected. Directory Integrator can apply these validation rules to all objects that are selected. If they meet the criteria then the object can be selected for export. If not, the problem attributes are highlighted and the object cannot be selected.

National Directory Connector rules

The following attributes are mandatory for every object:

  • Organisation Code
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Local Unique Identifier

The following attributes are not mandatory but if included, must be values from the NHS lists:

  • Job Role
  • Work Area
  • Clinical Specialty

Directory Integrator will check all these attributes and highlight any issue when an object is selected. This will be presented in an Errors form and will list all the problem attributes.

This can then be reviewed and the object updated accordingly.

Turning on National Directory Validation

To turn on the National Directory validation in Directory Integrator, apply these settings:
