Database Settings This tab allows the locations of the Directory Integrator database to be specified. Any options relating specifically to the database are listed here. Also on this tab are options to view information that relates to how Directory Integrator has been running, e.g., activity lists and error reports.
Database Locations By default, Directory Integrator uses a single database to store all settings and exported user data. However, this can be split into two distinct databases if required. See Splitting Database Content for more information on using distinct databases. Application database This is the path of the main application database and is mandatory. This is the database path used if using just one database. Either type the path to the database or browse to it using the ellipsis (...) button. If a path is entered that does not exist, a warning message will be displayed allowing the path to be re-entered. NOTE: If the path of this database is changed, Directory Integrator will issue a message and then close itself. This is required so the new database settings are applied. Details database This is the optional path to the details database. Database Options Auto-save to the details database upon update By default, when a user is updated, the changes are only made when either Save (to save to the database) or Update (to save to the data source) are clicked. Setting this option automatically saves to the database when Update is clicked. Remove Inactive Entries This option will remove all configuration data from the database that is not in use. This covers: These settings will be removed when they have a Status value marked as Not In Use. This is the only way of removing these settings from Directory Integrator. The database will be compacted after these entries have been removed (see below). Compact Database WARNING: This will force the closure of Directory Integrator. This option will close Directory Integrator and then run the MS Access Compact and Repair utility. This will clean the database of redundant data. On completion, Directory Integrator will restart. View Database Content These options display data stored in the database and also provide the option of removing the data. Show Activity Log All activities performed by the software are recorded in the application database. This can be useful when Directory Integrator is running automatically with little user input. Click the button to view the activity list. An example activity log is shown below:
Show Error Log Whenever an error occurs during activities performed by Directory Integrator, it is recorded in the application database. Click the button to view the error log. Purge Logs The tables in the database that contain the activity and error data can become quite large, depending on how Directory Integrator is used. This option will remove all records from these two tables.
